Recently finished installing a dual bb gt35 with .82 AR exhaust housing. Anyone else have this turbo in their car? I'm having some serious lag issues.

I have a HTA3586 which is a larger billet version of the GT35 and a .84 T4. I found it laggy/peaky without my quickspool valve. With the QSV running, I get 10psi by 2900rpm and 15psi by 3300 rpm on a 7M

ive got a gt35 the same as yours on my 7m. .82ar internal waste gate. Starts spooling at around 1700rpm and reaches a good level of boost and goes nuts after about 3000-3500. I did have super slow spool times but that was because i didn't have the actuator arm pulled tight enough on the waste gate. make sure that it needs to be pulled about 4-5mm in order to get the actuator arm over the little pin that joins it to the internal gate. Assuming the arm is lined up straight where it goes into the actuator and wont foul on anything, ur waste gate action and spool times should be sweet. Good choice of turbo btw ;)

what all is done to the car? What kinda exhaust manifold, what type of wastegate? When you say serious lag issues what was your previous setup that you are comparing it to. When is boost hitting and when are you seeing full boost?

If you were a previous CT upgrade this turbo will be slower to spool that is a given.

I have a 50mm external wastegate and a stainless t4 manifold, full 3" catless exhaust. Start boosting around 3900 rpms and full boost around 5000. Had a t3/t4 turbo before and I know it naturally boost a lot quicker but almost 4000 rpms before boosting now seems a little ridiculous. Just became a member of the forum about a week ago and made the mistake of buying the t3/t4 off of ebay a while back. Lasted about 20 miles before it started sounding like a super charger. Might have to check into the quick spool valve, havent heard much about that before.

Just curious to see if anyone had the same turbo and has the same issue with lag but looks like I might have some other issue going on. Seems like I'm the only one starting to spool at 4000 rpms. Checked out the quick spool valve and one of the specifications was to have an undivided manifold so thats out of the question now, especially with a 500 dollar price tag.

This was with my 2jz and a gt35 DBB, 1200cc injectors and e-85. Boost came on hard just before 4K rpm. We only had 24 lbs of boost to get the 550 rwhp. Now running Comp 67, tbb, with my spool valve, she is very responsive.

And here's my LIPP BOSS Sr. with 61mm, P-trim, .83A/R exhaust. (gt35R copycat) This was a pump has tune done at 17 psi.

Makes positive mani pressure from 1500, but nothing really noticeable until 3500-3800 when it hits like a freight train. If you look closely at 4000 the wastegate cracks open, which causes a slight jog in the curve.

I'm now running E-85 so it pulls much harder now (+20deg timing helps). Very interested to see what torque I'm making.

EDIT: note Dan's (leecheater) and my dyno locations- these pulls were done at the same shop so they are very good for comparison.

I'm not seeing positive pressure until 3900 so I'm thinking the wastegate has a small leak. I appreciate you sharing your stats, helps me to realize that the lag isn't coming from just a bigger exhaust housing. BTW, what is mani pressure?

Like i said earlier. I had all kinds of trouble with spooling and leaky wastegates. Make sure ur not loosing all ur precious zaust gasses thru there somehow
