I have just got my car running about a month or two ago, but have only put in 50 miles on the new build. Although I do have an oil leak, I just could never find it. I have the o-ring on the dipstick, and I am positive it is not coming from there. But anways I couldnt not see or anything where the leak is coming from. So I went to take the turbo off, I am getting a new gasket for the turbo oil return line and the feed line will be getting two new crush washers just to make sure those are good. Now the oil galley plug, It is the bolt next to the flange of the oil return line for the turbo line. Anyways I had a hard time getting a bolt in there where the motor was on the stand. So I had put sillicone around it and all, hoping it would seal, this may be where my leak is coming from but anyways I removed that and the threads on the block where this bolt screws in arent the best. I have now figured out that its is a pipe thread not a smaller mm bolt in length and a 1.25 or 1.50 pitch, whatever it was I had in there. AHHH So now I have a few choices to choose from to go about fixing this.

Drill it, Tap it, and Re thread it? But what about all the metal shavings that will be getting in the motor?

I can try to clean it all up with some brake parts cleaner, then put some jb weld or teflon paste on the pipe thread bolt that is suppossed to be there and see if it will thread in? If it does thread in? What are the odds of this sealing properly.

To my knowledge, as long as this is sealed then the job is done, so however I go about sealing this, works for me unless I am wrong about that.

What shall I do guys?

yeah, that hole is 1/8"BSP. Try to pick up a new plug and thread it in as much as posible with teflon tape on it. It doesnt need to go in very far to seal.

Another option (trick) is to retap (chase) the threads with a 1/8BSP tap heavily coated with grease. The trick is to tap just a little at a time real slowly then take it out and clean the grease off and regrease it and go a little more. The grease holds the little bit of shavings that you are going to get to the tap. Make sure that you dont try to tap to far as then the plug will not seal being that it is tappered. once done, get a small dia. long magnet that will fit in the hole and this will allow you to retreave any shavings that might still be in there. What ever you do, dont use any type of brake clean of any spray cleaner on it cause if there is anything left in there, all that you will do is blow it in to the galley and that is the main feed galleys to the crank and any shavings that might get in there go straight to the bearing. Can we saw BYE BYE! Main Bearings!!!!!!!!

Yeah man. I ended up just chasing the threads with the 1/8-27 tap slowly. Then the bolt finally screwed in hand tight, and I torqued it down. Then I backed it back out and stirred up some JB weld (Should Never leak) and I coated the threads on the bolt and put it hand tight, then torqued her down and then put some JB weld along the outside of the bolt. It has been drying for about 4 hours now. Will let it sit overnight and hopefully Toyota will have my two crush washers and gasket so I can get this turbo back on and get back to breaking this motor in with no oil leak! BTW what is this bolt called, I actually need another one if anyone has one laying around? THX.
