hey there everybody,
my name is tristan, and i will be hanging around in the 7mge engine tech section... as this is really the only forum here that applies to me. i currently own a supra, but it is only for a short time so i can save the powertrain from rusty eventual death and offer a chance at new life for the little 7m. (aren't i a nice guy?) here is a pic of the donor supra in the garage

as you can see this car was just rotting away at the local boneyard, till i came around, grabbed a tape measure, went home to measure, went back to the yard to measure, did about six months of research as close as possible to what i wanted to do (i doubt that my project has ever been done before, so there is no DIY thread or article anywhere.... trust me i've looked, some that are similar, though and these have been my rough guideline)

i will occasionally be asking questions about the 7mge as it is a new medium to me, but an engine is an engine and most things i can find on/in the manual. Other things, though, like "What exhaust sounds good on a N/A?" are the reason i am here. that is why i signed up for this supra forum... that exact question has already been asked, and all i have to do now is subscribe! Perfect!

Well, that's me, and i'll post a build thread in a few weeks when i complete this project... or i will link you to a build thread on bimmerforums.... whichever(and no, the 7m is not going in a BMW, or a Toyota).

thanks in advance to everyone...
-3stan

That is absolutely correct! isn't it more fun to guess than be told?

A stock 7mge is a huge upgrade over the stock 2.2l 4cyl that came in the truck. torque will increase by 60 ft-lbs or better, and HP by almost 100! milage should stay close to the 4 cyl (a 2wd extended cab s10 weighs 400 lbs less than an 88 supra), so the way i see it there's really no downside. a much more common v8 swap would net me about the same power at the same price, but milage would be in the toilet. should be finished with the swap in 2-3 weeks, with a build thread to follow. let me know what you guys think.
