Good for 600 hp?

I have a chance to buy an upgraded CT-26 that is supposedly able to support 600 hp. Here's how the guy described it.

This turbo has been upgraded with a modified Garrett 66 trim compressor wheel, that has a larger inducer and exducer. The compressor housing has been machined to match the contour of the upgraded compressor wheel, externally looks stock. The turbine wheel is a Stage 3 Garret T3.

I'm only looking for 400-450 hp for now and i'm wondering if it being a .66 trim will cause more lag? I'm guessing this turbo makes it's power at higher rpm, right?

He wants $600 for it but might be negotiable. What do you think?

I think if your only going for 400HP or so it will be good but 600 mite be pushing it

I have seen that ebay turbo. It seem ok, I am not sure it will make that power. 600 flywheel hp is a lot to ask of a CT upgrade.

If you had a stage 5, o trim, or p trim you could do it. With what you have described, not a mouse fart on a windy day is that turbo gonna hit 600hp.

That's what I thought too, 600 hp is alot of air movement through a 3 litre engine originally designed for 240 hp. But if it's not a lag monster that makes its boost at redline only then it should be suitable for my 400 to 450 hp needs, right? It's gotta be better than my stock CT-26 with 170K miles on it.

600 isn't alot for a 3.0, its alot for a ct26 stock or modded.

i simply don't trust e-bay sellers, or sketchy ct upgrades... not saying there aren't decent upgrades... but some just don't seem like they would be very reliable

There are too many variables for ET, with a big one being the driver. But with 450 to the ground, you should trap close to 115-120 mph.

600 isn't alot for a 3.0, its alot for a ct26 stock or modded.

Back in the old days, 1 hp per cubic inch was respectable, now 200 hp per litre isn't alot. Gotta love that technology!

600rwhp on a modified CT-26 with a stage 3 turbine wheel? not gonna happen.
And cramming that HUGE turbo setup into a CT-26 means it'll not last much
longer than the length of that record breaking mouse fart.

Cliffs: no, it won't do it (unless you're adding a 300 shot of Nitrous too)
and then it's still a nitrous fed mouse fart.

I'll pass on it then. I'll save my money and when I outgrow the CT i'll get a T4 and be done with it. Thanks for the input!
