Hey,

Anyone know of any good machinists near Atlanta, GA? Any ideas on how much it might cost to resurface the head/block out of the car?

Thanks for the info,
Alex

The words "Good" and "Cheap" machinist rarely belong in the same sentence...that is unless you have a buddy that's a machinist.

jdub is 100% correct

a long time ago when i was shoping for my first machine shop i basically walked up to the guy at the counter or the machinist and said can you surface a block nad head smooth enough for a MHG. well one said sure but that surface finish isnt a big deal another said no and the last one said i can make it flat enough that you wont need a gasket needless to say i went with the third one. he was 50 bucks for the head and 70 for the block just for some numbers

If you want good, go to Bryan Maloof - Maloof Racing Engines. He's in Duluth, GA.

Not cheap, but he comes highly recommended. I'll be picking up my motor from him next week, so I'll report on how I feel his work is, then ;)
