We don't know anything about your car from what you just posted. Either way, you'll probably hit fuel cut. (and the HKS filter is crap, I'd invest in something else)

I was thinking if hes running stock injectors and pump, what, 15, 16psi MAX? Or was it 14, Im not a turbo guy yet so Im not sure, but I know on if all you have modded is what you listed, youll hit fuel cut easy.

If that's the only Mods you have, how are you turning the boost up?

I don't have a whole lot more Mods than that, and i hit fuel cut at about 12-13. I have seen it hit 15 just before cut out, but wonder how acurate my gauge is. I've always read stock turbo is OK to about 16lbs, but more than that, and it is gonna soon be toast

Looks like?

Yeah, go ahead and turn up the boost.

Seriously, you don't know what style gasket you have, or even what it is torqued to. If you're sitting on a stocker, torqued to 55lbs/ft (as per the Book) then this is what you can expect - ::bhg::

Think, man, before you go and do something stupid. Running just under FCO with a stock gasket on iffy torque specs, is considered stupid.

Over the last 5 years, I have bought and parted out 8 MKIII's. These cars have been in various conditions, but 7 of the 8 cars had a common problem. Wanna guess what it was?.....................::bhg::

These guys aren't being an ass to you about this for no reason. You should Definitely take Dowards advise, and retorque that head before going. Hell, I don't know what the big deal is about the word "TRACK". I drive very similar on the "TRACK" as I sometimes do on the "Street". Take this advise wether you actually go to the track or not.

There is plenty of good reading about the track on here. Do a search. If re-torquing the head is more of a job than you want to do, it's not a good idea to go at all. You "Will" break stuff if you go long enough. I'm breaking in a new clutch right now. I upgraded it while swapping transmissions was necessary.

You want to do it, so you will end up doing it. Just be sure your car is ready first, or you will eventually be sorry.

i run an oem hg on stock bolts at 76ft lbs or torque, not that great a setup but i run a k&n fipk, ddp, 3'' exhaust and a dr jonez mbc set just below fuel cut. so roughly 10-12 psi. sumthing in there my boost guage is stock so i cant really tell.

the difference is i have had my car for over 3 years and i know that it is in absoloutly perfect running order with perfect oil, coolant, timing, belts, hoses, everything is strong and i have dynoed it, taken it to the track, and made some long hard pulls on the highway without having to service anything more than the oil.

an oem hg will be fine as long as the job was done right and torqued right, user error is going to screw you up the most so make sure you know what your doing and that your putting mods on a good platform, 175k miles on a motor sounds iffy, i only have about 78k on mine so you may have different results.

Yep, even I had to replace the head gasket when I got it. I took it to the track, and went balls-out to the tune of a 17.8 (haha.. yes, it's turbo - f'ing clogged exhaust - 3" elbow + exhaust on the way!)

The thing is, you do not go to the track, just to see how long you can take getting to 60mph. You go for WOT good times, and that is it. Make sure your car is ready for WOT runs, if for no other reason than ANY OTHER MKIII OWNER THAT KNOWS ANYTHING WILL BE PISSED IF YOU DIE HALFWAY DOWN THE TRACK.

Yeah, I'd be mighty pissed if another MKIII owner held up the track for an hour while they cleaned up the coolant showering the track.

You'd get :slap: from me.
