Going to the drags, and want to run race gas. What needs to be done?

I need experts in here. I'll be going to the drags soon, and was planning on running race gas. I need some answers as to what I need to do to prepare my motor so it will run good with the higher octane. I want to get an idea of what needs to be done a little in advanced so I can practice tuning. Much thanks to all help given.

Either more timing or more boost.....

Total waste of time/money it the motor doesn't need it as it WON'T give anymore power on it's own.

So even if I mess with the timing, it won't add anymore power?

Not a whole lot Matt.

If you were running more Boost or more Compression you can get good gains but running it in a stock motor will lose power.

It will let you run more timing but not enough to make it worth running and it's a long involved process fine tuning the car to suit with the risk of detonation/dead HG not far away.

Alright, since that won't work, what can I do to gain a little more power @ the track before I go?

BTW, I'm not turbo.

Max air in the tires and see what traction is like

Clean air filter

Clean and Gap the plugs

Remove all the extra crap in the car

Race with the windows up
