Going single? Need Intercooler pipes?

its not my car, its my buddys (the reaper).. just put it on this weekend. We were going to make a hard pipe for the hot side, but were tired and took the easy out. 
Plus save from making them twice once he gets a front mount..

god dam a single 1J sounds NASTY!!! with Drewgo's manifold and 3 inch turbo back it sounds like a MKIV single with 4 inch exhaust!!!! god im in love with this car now
runs AWESOME pipe kept popping off RIGHT when the WG would open. sux but good enough to drive to work tomorrow. we'll touch it up tomorrow after work

That's exactly how I felt when I first started my car with the turbo kit.The Reaper said:

the sound of a single 1J is hard to beat in my book. 4" exhaust on a single 1J sounds really good too.

I did the same thng with my single!
You can see I wrapped the end in heat wrap because it was so close to the exhaust manifold.
It stayed like that for about an hour, just long enough to drive to the shop to get some custom pipes welded.

alright guys more pics are coming. a co-worker of ours took a but load of pics playing with his new $1300 Nikon camera so hopefully he uploaded them to a memory stick of some sort. i'll find out in an hr when i get to work and if so......then i'll post em up.
oh yea i have a 4 inch filter right on the turbo for now. didn't have enough time to cut and weld up a 4 inch intake pipe. will all be done soon tho.

hey did you weld on your wg flange before or after you dropped in the engine? i don't know if i should drop in the engine and then weld on the flange to make sure the wg fits good or just weld it while it is out of the body, which way would be easier?
just weld on the flange as is or cut off some if you wish, but it will fit.

nice josh. glad to hear it's kinda done. get some vids when u get everything buttoned up and lets see what that turbo can do.
