So I got my resonator and stock cat removed today, It made my car slightly louder wich is good and now I have decide to upgrade my shitty ass muffler. Right now I have the Ractive MT631C Round Slant Cut Carbon Fiber muffler:
855649_12_full.jpg

Its retail is worth 450 dollars but it is pretty shitty flow. My exausht is 2.5 piping and the ractive muffler is a 2 1/4 inch inlet. SO the exausht mechanic suggested to go with a Dynomax bullet racing series muffler with a 2.5 inlet and 2.5 exit and then I would slap a tip on the end. Muffler is sopuses to have really good flow and would be alot better for my turbo charged inline 6 engine.
here is some pics and info on the muffler:

BULLET

Compact round design for tight ground clearance
Moderate sound control – RACE USE ONLY!
Welded extruded perf tube design

Features and Benefits

Straight-through design for maximum exhaust flow and power
All-welded construction for maximum durability
All-aluminized materials for long life
Uses CRF (Continuous Roving Fiber) for maximum sound control
Powertech tested

Has anyone ever used this muffler or any of the dynomax racing series mufflers???
Any comments or info would be great thnx

i dont know what retail you are looking at... but 450 is WAYYYYYYYYYYYY wrong.... that muffler is 85 bucks USD at BEST....

go on ebay find one with a 3inch inlet that you like and purchase...shouldnt cost more then 50-60 shipped for the regular ones...

I'm using the Dynomax round one now with the 3" inlet and outlet. It has kinda a drone on long highway cruises, but overall ain't bad. Overall idle tone and under WOT I think is really nice! I'm replacing my exhaust with the RSR GT2 in a little bit, so if you are interested in a muffler for REALLY cheap, just let me know...

I am running the 3in. dynomax race series muffler, its 23.5" and dosent do much IMO. All it is is a glasspack you can get from summit for $25, your paying $10 more for it to say dynomax on the box. I plan on adding the ultra flow (real muffler) in addition to the bullet.

I know its a glass pack but if I put one on its just going to be my test pipe with no rezonators and just the dynomax bullet then a tip. The bullet and the ultraflow would sound like crap in my opion be way too quiet and shitty. I have owned the ultra flow series there nice sounding but there not loud enough to satsfy me.

I agree, 450$ ccnd for a muffler.....never seen that in my life, specially a Ractive that isnt all out quality. Either you got the wrong price, or you got ripped off. Show us the link of the retail!!

the price was looked up at the local muffler shop but then again mufflers from there are really expensive for some reason even for this bullet muffler.

But I think I'm goign to just wait and save up for 3 inch exausht. Excpet I think I might get 3 inch crushed, I know its worse then mandrel but what would be better 2.5 inch mandrel or 3 inch crush??

id say 3inch crush, cause theres no way a crush will take a half inche off the diameter of the 3inch. We dont have a complicated exhaust routing on our Supras, so crush should be minimal..thus less diameter loss in the bends. go 3inch

well finally got some pics of my current exuasht setup. Its a 3 inch downpipe and then then 2.5 inch catback. I just had all the resonators and the cat tooken off on monday. It flows pretty good now and sounds pretty mean. Just need to up the boost now that I have a better flowing exuasht system. Also thinking of getting a 3 inch catback exuasht sometime later too.

My 3 inch downpipe:

The 2.5 inch pipe I had put in to replace my cat and resonator:

Where my 3 inch downpipe connects to my 2.5 inch catback exuasht:

A pic of the downpipe off the turbo:

Is that flex section I see on the downpipe? If so, that must have been expensive! All the shops here charge about $70 for 1ft. of 3" flex section. Congratulations on the exhaust though.

Here's a link to when I made my exhaust (I can weld).

yes it is flex pipe on the downpipe. I didn't have the downpipe made it came with the car like that. It must a certain brand name as its not custom made becauses its mandrel bent.

nice job on the custom exhasut I really wish I could weld
