Going down south (Alabama), any recommendations?

Me and a few friends are going down for the long weekend (our thanksgiving) to talladega. *my buddy is really into nascar*, so we're gonna watch the races. Apparently I shouldn't wear a toyota hat? The hotel is in birmingham.

Anyways I'm trying to figure out what to do as far as partying, never been down there. How is the night life? Club districts, what to stay away from etc.,

really there is nothing around here. theres the rocket center in hunstsville. oh yeah WATCH OUT for dry counties. they are really funny about drinking in this state. down town b-ham is nasty.

on my way to mexico last year we stopped off in alabama and let me tell you, we took the wrong exit.

it looked like a neighborhood from a dirty south rap video and everyone looked at us like they wanted to rob us.

we stopped for gas and redbulls and the redbulls smelled like cigarettes. like someone was blowing smoke in the refrigerator all day.

alabama sucks.

i saw a Robot Chicken where the "Stix" rabbit got 1 hour in jail for touching a child inappropriately, and that was in Alabama. But I somehow think that a parody cartoon could be somewhat inaccurate... So dont touch any children inappropriately, and just avoid the whole situation. Wear a toyota hat, and take pictures of the looks on everyones face. I heard Tony Stewart is going to be racing for toyota next year

I'm from Mobile, and can think of a couple of exits off of I-10 lagged may have taken.

I can't be much help with advise on your trip. About 15 years ago I went to Birminghan, and tried to find night life. We looked all night long and couldn't find a bar anywhere. I'm sure it has changed since. And as for getting advise from Jay.........he's not much of a drinker. My best advise for your trip is to get sick, and skip the race. That is, Unless 100,000 drunk rednecks excites you. But hey, I hear a lot of those drunk rednecks are naked and female.

Been there done that!!! Going back again in a few months to see Jay and Scotty. All I can say is Go to Milo's get a burger and have some sweet tea!!! Trust me those two things alone will make the trip worth it.....

Well i've been to a lot of different places in the world, but never down south. I'll try to blend in (ya right).

Trust me, here in toronto we're used to humidity. It's really hot and humid in the summer. I don't think I'll hit any dry counties (assuming that means what I think it does?), unless we get lost.

Someone else recommended milo's burgers too so I will def. check that out. I still don't have any club recommendations for saturday night, I don't really know how the infield parties work. But I hear they are pretty good.

a dry county is where they dont sell beer. some citys do and the county doesnt. its real messed up. best to put it in the trunk. they will arrrest you for anything they can. a few weeks ago they made me pour out a case of beer b/c it was open (only missing two that wasnt in the car) plus is wasnt in the trunk.

I'm personally not a fan of the Milo's burger. Their fries are good, and their Iced Tea is legendary.

As for you "Vixen ?" comment...........That's Jays wife who knows more about a Supra than Jay, and has one just as nice as his. I would advise you to do some research on Vixen before you come. She's more legendary than Milo's tea. Now go say 5 Hail Mary's, and do your research!
