I was told that the Godzilla BOV stays partly open at idle so if you are not on a stand alone, maft or VPC setup it will not work.I was thinking of getting this bov.Is this true?

arnt bypass valves and bov's both activated by vaccume in the manifold? like when there is vac in the manifold the valve is sucked open. the bov on my bud's civic stays open during idle and closes when you rev it. bypass valves would be the same i would think. stay open when there is vac in the manifold and close when you rev the engine. i have yet to take off my bypass valve and hook up the signal line to see but i think this is how it would be. the thing that would throw you off running a bov is that when it is open it is sucking in unmetered air, making you run lean.

yes they are both opened by vac. however, bypass valves are usually poppet type and very weak. since it is rerouted no need to keep it closed at idle. this is why you cant run stock/bosche/etc open vent. real deal bov have much stiffer springs, and can even be preloaded to force it closed at idle and low boost situations.

hope this helps
