My name is Jorgen Gilbertson, and I've been modding my car for about a year and a half now. I've skipped a lot of steps as far as modding goes simply because I'm not going bolt-on turbo, and then ss autochrome manifold and blah blah blah. I've simply been accumulateing parts this entire time. I got my car with 84k original miles, and it now only has 88k. Needless to say, I havn't been driving it all that much. Well, I think I have everything I need to finally put it all together and put down some real power. Here are the mods on the car...

3" crimp bent exhaust
3" downpipe with 3" elbow
washers on the wastegate to about 10-11 psi
piller pod with boostgauge
cotten air filter
lipp aluminum intercooler pipes
greddy rs bov
spearco replica
aeromotive fpr
walbro 255 with relay for full voltage (i have pics of this if you're curious)
map-ecu
custom short shifter

as my car sits, i think there is something holding back the power. i don't know if my timing is off or what. honestly i don't really care cause im going to be tearing into it next week. as of right now, i believe my valve seals are bad, AND my water temp sensor is bad.

here is a pic from yesterday after i washed it

and the intercooler

here's my dirty engine bay (this will be the before for the before and after pic)

and one more for good measure

I might have forgotten a thing or two, but my new set-up will be pretty sweet!

my plans for the car are as follows

decent spool time and 425rwhp on pump gas
500rwhp on e85
525rwhp on race gas

here is how i plan to reach those goals.....

Right now in my possesion is

stg 3 action clutch (6 puck 2800 lb pressure plate)
rsr gtII exhaust
aem uego wideband
4" aluminum intake pipe
k&n airfilter
xtd lightweight flywheel (claimed to be chromoly but who knows!)

in transit is.....

megan catch can
horsepowerfreaks 61mm turbo-kit
and..... im working on getting some 720cc injectors (ill need big injectors if i want big hp with e85)

here's some pics of the parts i have so far

also, i didn't mention it earlier, but i have a mhg with arp headstuds. as for my motor, i think ill just run it on 18 psi until i have the money to build it. maybe thats foolish, but i would rather have a little horsepower for now, and build the engine when more money comes.

future upgrades will be....

75 shot (if this clutch can take it)
built engine (forged pistons, eagle rods, clevite bearings, arp hardware)
p&p head (i don't know if ill go cams or not, havn't decided yet)
aluminum driveshaft

now tell me what you guys think. i need some input cause there are no 7m guys around here! ill probably run the 440cc injectors on the stock map (and NEVER BOOST, don't worry, i have pretty good self control) until the clutch is broken in. then swap in some bigger injectors and get a rough street tune. for the street tune ill be useing a wideband with data logging. after there is a rough tune, ill take it in to a local diesel performance shop and do my own tuning on their chassis dyno! after that, my friend has some mt et streets on 15s and he'll let me do a couple of passes on them. i WANT 11's. how realistic is this stuff guys? i need some feedback!

ok...... the latest word on the turbo kit is........ its supposed to be here by wed. i've ordered 720's and they should be here by then also. i think i have EVERYTHING i need. even down to the oil....... well, acctually ill probably have to run to napa to get some misc vacuum hoses and such, but ive already got oil, and i even have arp flywheel bolts.

Looking pretty good.

P.S. Your avatar pic is freaking sweet.

thank ya, i got my pic off of the sts website. squires turbo systems. they have a retarded idea of remote location for turbos. they build camaros and vettes and put the turbo by the axle.

update, i just got my injectors and my wideband. ill probably throw the pics up later tonight

This may be a stupid question...why did you cut a slot out on the timing cover with the 7M-GTE on?

partly so i could check my timing more easily (because i was having troubles with my timing), but mostly cause i like to see spinning cam wheels!!!

by the way, you sound like my dad.......

Remote turbo's are actually a great idea and have some advantages to turbo's in the engine bay.

ok, but there also is terrible response time in relation to a turbo under the hood. sts is way overrated! what if it rains????

ok, enough about sts, and back to my build. today i finished the valve seal, and took out the turbo and exhaust. i also removed the charcoal canister cause it was bumping the new turbo a little bit when mounted. ive got some mounted pics, but i left the camara out in the garage where im working on the car, so you will all have to wait until tomorrow night to see some pics.

Where is there to get e85 in the south sound??

i have NO clue, but i live in eastern wa for the summer, and there is some about 20 miles away. however, as liberal as washington is, i expect there to be some e85 fuel stations sprouting soon!

i have all of my parts and ive taken off the old exhaust and the top of the engine. replaceing the old valve seals took a long time, and there was a COMPLETELY blown one cyl #3 exhaust side. the new turbo and manifold look great just sitting on the motor, i hope they perform as good as they look! i also ditched the charcoal canister due to fitment issues..... plus it cleans up the engine bay. ill be selling a LOT of my old stuff. i have a greddy manifold/ hks wastegate, and a hpf manifold/ tial 44mm wastegate. im still not sure which one im going to use. the hpf is BRAND new, but the quality isn't as high as that of the greddy. even though the greddy will take some modifying to fit, i think ill use the greddy and sell the hpf manifold and wastegate combo..... so if anyones interested, pm me.
