question: would a 2.5" exhaust with cat, resonator and muffler hinder performance at 5psi or less?

the reason i'm asking is because i'm considering downsizing my entire exhaust after my custom 3" dp and 3" cut-out (which opens up at 5psi). everything after that would be downsized to 2.5" with cat, resonator and muffler to keep it nice and quiet.

do you think there would be much loss performance-wise in the low end boost?

do you think it would hinder the turbo's ability to spool faster?

you think i should just keep everything 3" but add the resonator to quiet it up? i already have a cat + muffler but it's too loud for me at highway cruising speeds. i have a high end clean audio setup and i like to listen to my classical music sometimes when i have the windows rolled up ;)

I used to live on the east coast (toronto, Canada) ... I didn't get a resonator there. Not many people have them here either tho.

Anyone else think going 2.5" would be a good or bad idea?

if you're keeping the cutout, just make sure everything up to the cutout is 3"+....after the cutout, who cares? i used to run a 3" DP + cutout, then a stock cat-back on my old DD....total stealth/quiet, max power.

5psi comes sooo fast..

i would say it would hurt spool, and make your power spike on a little bit more,

but if that cut out opens when i should i would say get ready to watch that boost gauge pegg when it opens,

i was cruisin on the freeway today with od off, rolled into the throttle some, built 5psi, and stomped on i, gauge went to 13psi, almost instally,

any ways, it's you car, if you want i quite make her quite...
