i tried 5mm and it seems to slip when i try to torque down the bolts so what size is it? or do i just need to fight with it to get it to work correctly? also, i think the first head bolt you torque might be messed up. advice on what to do with that.

read the instructions that came with the set.

youre supposed to thread in the studs FINGER TIGHT only, then tighten the nuts in the CORRECT SEQUENCE. make sure you go to the TSRM for the correct torquing sequence on the head.

the problem with "finger tight" is sometimes its NOT right. a lot of blocks have old dirty threads... so you HAVE to use an allen key to put the studs in a little further and make sure they are all even...

finger tight just doesnt work most of the time.

Finger tight will work if you CLEAN THE THREADS!
You're supposed to chase all threads before installing new studs. Clean the head bolt holes thoroughly afterwards, and blow out with compressed air.

Lagged: lol... you're welcome indeed... sheesh!

I agree, finger tight on a perfect block with perfect threads. I know I have had to use an allen before.

the right way to do it is to first clean all the threads. finger tight IS the right way to do it, not sometimes, not half the time, all of the time.

Correct yet again, lagged. I must also add that if it's not going in finger tight, then back it out and thoroughly clean the threads. If you have to use an allen wrench to really tighten it in there, you run the risk of cracking the block.
