OK, I got the 5m head off, the block is all but ready to go, but getting the 7m head off is another story, I got everything off of the engine, stripped down to basically just the head, but getting the cams out, and getting them re-timed is what I'm worried about. Are there any certain things I need to do when putting it all back together? I still need to get a HG for it, but I just wanted to see what I needed to be doing in the mean time. tear-down seems to be going a lot smoother on the 7m, I guess Toyota knew they'd have to be fixed more often... Anyway, right under the fuel like, the little U loop thing attached to the block theres a big cannister thing whith vacuum lines coming out of it, wtf is that thing? It's coming off, but I just haven't seen it before...

BTW, any thoughts on just putting a 5m into the car instead? I took apart the top end and all but, probably 3 lifters were stuck, and the ones that weren't stuck were broke, I had some spares and stuck in the for the itme being, but I'm thinking about going with the 7m head, just to be different. Not that a 5mge powered mkIII wouldn't be original enough... but anyway, Just curious....

350 is next in line, if this doesn't work. That or a 302, I got one of those in the garage already.... but Ford..... and like $590827 to rebuild the POS, I just got rid of a 350 block too......

*edit*
Someone mentioned the name 5.7ge.... I kinda liked it.... think of the possibilities.....

probably about.... $25 or so more too.... :evil2:

I guess if everyone pooled there funds and sent it to me, I'd be more than happy to do this. But, I read that 302's sit right down into the ol' TurboII's... that would be my route, those cars weigh what... 85lbs, wet?
