Getting new radiator, what else should I get?

There is a tiny crack that has formed in the top tank of my stock radiator, so I am going to replace the radiator. I'm also going to get new upper and lower radiator hoses, a new thermostat, and probably do a complete flush and change to Toyota Red coolant. Is there anything else that I should consider getting cooling wise? Also, will it be a big deal going with OEM radiator hoses or should I definetly upgrade to the silicon ones?

I wouldn't change the fan clutch unless it needs it...same for the shroud. Consider a dual core radiator vs OEM for additional capacity.

T-stat = OEM or a Stant SuperStat and cut the jiggle valve off...test for correct opening temp before you cut the jiggle valve off. Make sure the hole is at 12 o'clock and replace the gasket.

Toyota Red is good, or use Zyrex G05.

Samco hoses aren't cosmetic, they're far better than rubber. You CAN'T use worm gear clamps with silicone though as it will eat them.

Suggestions:
- fan shroud (check and replace if needed)
- fan clutch (check and replace if needed)
- belts (whole lot easier with the radiator out)
- radiator cap (this is obvious, but just making sure)

You could go so far as to replace the water pump, but just check and replace if needed (doubtful)

well if you are really having that much of a cooling issue.. i know alot of guys say dont do it.. but getting a larger oil cooler seemed to work for me.. but then again, i drive in 100+ degree heat daily.. and no oil pressure problems in mine.

A bigger oil cooler that's T-stat controlled will take some of the thermal load off the coolant system. Bonus is you also get rid of the pressure bleeding stock filter head.

Many people don't know how to tell if they need one.

If your going to flush the system anyway...all of the above and:

87245-1B220 Heater hose from head to HCV

87245-1B251 Heater hose from HCV to firewall

16283-42010 90* Water bypass Hose below Tstat housing

16282-42010 90* Water bypass Hose at back of the head

New rubber FTW.

If I did go with smoething thicker (like this), will I be able to use my stock shroud and fan? Also, anyone know what modifications would be required to fit the radiator I linked to above? With regards to the water pump, what do I need to look for to determine if it needs to be replaced?

not really,my fan(brand new and clutch)pulled the plastic too close and 3 of the blades hopped over the shroud

Then something didn't fit right clearance wise.

If the water pump is not leaking coolant from the weep hole, there is no need to replace it.

I have the CSF radiator...fit's perfect in all aspects.
