Getting head

Resurfaced that is! Jeez you perverts!


Im trying to see how much itll cost me to get my head machined/resurfaced and new valve seals put in.

What should it cost me? 150? 200? 300?

Im trying to get all the advise i can before i go and get estimates tommarow. What are some good key questions to ask them?

Im not sure what you mean. Please elaborate.

Im not sure whether the machinist supplies those, or if you have to, but just make sure what ever is going into the head isn't junk. Make sure they are viton (?) valve seals. Its a material, not a brand. Thats one thing IJ would always recommend.

I got my head resurfaced for $45.

I paid $50 for "Resurfacing" and $200 for "Reconditioning" which appears to be the valve stem seal change-out.

mmmmm head......anyways, like most people have already posted, its in the 50 dollar range if you are in the states, which you are, booooooooo. In Canada, that would cost about $567.45, all in loonies and beaver pelts.

Im still trying to decide what to do with my head. resurface and recondition, yes. But I was also thinking about some 1mm oversized valves. I need to find a decent machinst first
