Okay so i'm painting the supra, i was wondering, since i will be painting the whole car, i want to try out painting a small piece first, like the front header panel where the supra badge goes onto, but i was wondering if i paint that, then the car later on, would there be a paint mismatch? i'm going to be using stock 3e5 paint but i don't want there to be different shades, so should i paint it all at once or can i do what i want to do for now to test it out, i'm trying out single stage paint and i wanna know if there would be a mismatch and i don't want that to happen...

yes iam 100% sure there will be a mismatch. Why?? Because its kinda like scoring with a hot chick you either do it right once or you will not get the same chance again. In another words paint will dry out so quickly before you even notice and you might have to apply another coat of paint to make up for it.I will also recomend to paint it on a sunny day if you actually do it outside.Plz do 3 coats of paint at least, and on the last coat add up more thinner to make it even shinnier.
You could also add a clear coat to acrylic paint , it will look like a dual stage paint and wait about 2 weeks to polish it

Im going to do it in my garage, its prepped and ventilated for painting, also has additional heating if necessary. I dont think i would need heat in the summer though, but yeah what are your guys opinions on acrylic enamel paint? its going to be single stage paint for the 3e5 im using...

Like I said, the paint I used, worked great. When I repaint my car, I'm definitely using it again. Single stage enamel rocks IMO.

No there should not be a mismatch as long as you buy all of your paint at once, AND you make sure and mix it the same both times, AND apply the same number of coats.

I have done this many times with no problem. However, I have had a problem though with buying a quart of paint later and the shade was off from the rest of the car. The new kid at the paint store could never get the mixture just right.
