2006 Evo IX MR

The supra was too far gone to be repaired. The motor is going into a cressida and the interior and slavageable parts are going to another supra to breathe some new life into it.

The Evo is nice and fast, but I still preferred the supra. :cry:

The driver side frame rail was accordianed all the way to the firewall. I had 4k to fix it, but after a lot of research and thought, I decided it would be better off not to in the long run. Now, if I had 32k to spend on completely restoring a 20yr old car, then maybe I would have. I decided on a new car, with a 10yr, 100k mile warranty, and that had some balls. Hence, the Evo. Fortunately, banks will finance the purchase of a new car, so I didn't need the 32k in cash.

Shoulda got an mk4, EVO's are cool and its nice to have a new car, but after having family and friends owning eclipses, the older evo, and a few 3000gt's I have come to find after the first 3 or 4 years they start falling apart, especially if ya drive em hard.

For all practicality, the evo is better for me. AWD, 4 doors, room for the kid seat in the back. Plus, if it starts to fall apart in 4-5 years, I still have the warranty. I don't plan on modding the car (too much), my plans are centering on making a high powered gokart. There is a nice 87 turbo that hasn't moved for about 6 months near where I live, maybe I'll try to pick that up as a long term project as well.

IMO the Evo X is hideous, plus it will NOT have the 4g63, which as almost 20years of research into it as far as aftermarket, plus it will have a paddle shifter, not a true manual trans.

Evo X = eclipse + mazda 6 + trainwreck

They create small vortices that allow more air to flow over the spoiler. Some aircraft have them to assist the control surfaces.

Paddle shifters are better... keeping both hands on the wheels at all times. Just wait till the Evo X comes out, I'm sure it will have tons of aftermarket support and even more potential.
