Would it be possible to run a boost gauge through a flip up pioneer LCD DVD player??? My roommate is selling one for cheap and I will buy it if I could have a digital boost gauge through the stereo screen. I am not an electrical wiring genious or anything and I am wondering if anyone has ever done this.

Thanks
Geoff

Do you want it to warn you of any sort of "Danger to manifold"?

Ah sorry man. I've been interested in this for a little while too. The HKS CAMP system mentioned above can do it, and IIRC, the new HKS FCON-S computers have an s-video out for monitoring a bunch of stuff too.

The gauges on the Pioneer in-dash video units are power meter (battery, 12v) RPM (on a few of them) and I think speed on the ones that were GPS capable. I wasn't aware that you could add a boost gauge, that would be very cool though, but I would also find it distracting to have to glance all the way over at your radio area for boost.

Oh yeah? Hmm, I guess I should look a little closer to it. I thought it had an additional input that would allow monitoring of 0-5v signals, but I may just be daydreaming.

The poineers Avics come standard with speedo, voltage, clock, side g's , accel and deccel g's and incline.
the speedo is always the big one in the center but the two side guages are selectable. They also offer a performance dislpay module but I have never used it. As far as I know no tach display. And you would have to use some thing that had video outputs to display any thing else. So no adding a boost guage to the standard display.
