Well its apart really... I have a few questions!

1. Best way to drain the tank... I know there is a bung on the bottom that you can use to drain her but what about using a manual fuel pump and putting it into some sort of bottle for disposal somehow. Right now it sits with the caps off of the sender, pump and fill tube. hopefully some will evaporate.

2. Does this fuel pump look fishy?

Ill have 2 more for when I do the swap... The one in my car currentlly and one form Yellow13

3. If anyone has a TSRM can you look for some multimeter based tests to check the condition of fuel pumps and sender units? I dunno if my photocopied TSRM includes that part....

Thanks all. Bill(Yellow 13) and I are doing this on friday!

use a 3/8 ratchet. to remove the drain plug, i would use a 3/8 extension to give yourself more leverage. End of story.

yeah fishy like its been in the bottom of a lake. mine looked brand new when it came out of the tank.
as far as draining, you could always use an electric siphon or the fuel pump itself. id rather do that than the drain plug since they are often covered in undercoat and sometimes hard to get to seal back up right.

I was thinking the same thing after looking at it.

I may just dump it out from where the filler tube arm attaches.. Ill find a bucket and a budyto help me lift it. Ill dump the gas somewhere.... Who knows... Shhh.

I don't understand, draining the tank was the easiest part of the job. There is a plug on the bottom of the tank. Put a gas can and a funnel under there, pull the plug out and let it drain.

There has been alot of moisture sitting in there for a while. I'm sure the tank is rusted too.

Well I need to make sure I can get the plub back in. First off. Is it a screw in type plug. Or a rubber stopper? If its a scerew in stopped It should be easy. Ill have to poke around the tank more to check for rust but fromtwhat I saw. It looked fine.

I may not even end up using this tank its just I want to make sure its ready just in case
