I would like to know how to make the gas gauge light on, when I still have over half a tank left.

it's a good idea, living in an area that gets snow... never know if you'll get stuck and you need that gas to keep the heat going at minimum

I can think of 1/2 dozen ways to do it - what's the goal Koenigturbo?

If I knew what you were trying to accomplish I could probably give you the best way to do it.

i think whats he is trying to do is get the low gas warning light to go on earlier. so he isnt warned when he has an empty tank.
i never let it get down below a minimum of 1/3 tank, so it could be useful to have it go on earlier

Ah, if that's the case it's just a float in the fuel tank. As noted it's separate from the fuel gauge sender, so you should be able to "adjust" it to come on when you want.

Why half a tank? Hell you can tell on the normal gauge when it's there...

Low fuel light comes on when around 3 gallons are left, that's ~60 miles of normal driving for me...

my goal:

I'm doing a L.E.D. conversion,. My low fuel light is very dim. I'd would like it to come on now so I can see which L.ED. to put in it, I'm thinking I need the high output one instead of the 90 degree beam. I need to send back the one I don't need.

nope, good guess though, I'm trying to replace the light for brighter one, I have a couple of l.e.d.'s one's high powered, one's just regular L.E.D., some L.E.D.'s some, are too bright and some are just not very bright at all. don't need it overpowering.

half tank means, thats what I have left, meaning the light won't come on, just a referance, so I can explain why I would like it to come on now, so I can replace a bulb for an brighter light
Yep, I'll try to explain things better next time.
