first question.. i believe this is the stock boost controller? do i need to have this pluged in still im going to be running a DM T4 kit with a external wastgate and such wasnt sure if i still need to keep this in the car im also going MAFT Pro speed density..

Second question.. this i the vaccuum thing on the ps pump.. what happens if its not hooked up? and where does the nipple im pointing too go is it a vent?

next up..this guy was just hanging out under my IM not plugged in anywhere so i wasnt exactly sure what it does or where it goes or even if i need it with the FFIM

and finally these 2 plugs where the only plugs on the car that were not plugged in anywhere and im lost to where they go maybe someone on here might..

Some one much smarter then me will chime in and get this all answered up for you. However i was looking and thought i would post. First off nice car you just need to work on some of that rust before it gets worse. Then again any MK3 that is running i think is nice. As for your questions i don't believe that you need the stock boost controller as you call it if you have an aftermarket boost gauge. I believe the boost is controlled by the WG and the box you are asking about is only used for the stock boost gauge. Second for the plugs you are asking about it might help someone identify them if they know where they are (location) in the car. The piece under the IM looks to be the VSV. Hope someone else chimes in and can't wait to see more pics.

1. The first pic is the fuel pump voltage relay. Not the right name but it changes the fuel pump voltage from 6v to 12v. Either jumper it out at the plug or wire 12v direct to the fuel pump on keyed power.

2. Is the progressive power steering. This will change the amount of force on the power steering during low speed.

3. This is one of the EGR VSVs. If you have eliminated your egr then you don't need it.

4. I am not sure but a picture with where it is and a side pic would help along with wire colors.

5. This is a plug for the A/C electric fans that sit to the side of the main fan.

No. The stock boost controller has a preset actuator and is mechanical. Unless you took that off the passenger side, and not the driver side as shown, it isn't the fuel pump resistor. It should be the injector resistor.

Yep. It is a resistor, not the boost controller.

Second question.. this i the vaccuum thing on the ps pump

It is ported vacuum. It creates a vacuum leak because it is metered. And you lose funciton of PPS as already noted.

The white and blue don't look like Toyota wires. Neither does the plug. The pink and gray are. Pink is the speed sensor. The online EWD for the 89 shows brown for the ground, not gray with a purple tracer. Or purple with a gray tracer.

1. is correct, except that voltage goes from 9 volts to 12+ volts.
2. is the idle-up vac line. It's not for progressive power steering, but rather to bump idle when you turn the steering wheel,
as the pump will put a large load on the engine.
3. is either the egr or fuel vsv
4. and 5.- wish I could see those plugs from the side, rather than head-on.

wow thanks everyone for the replies :)
ill take another picture of the pink wired sensor.. im pretty sure he was hand around the fuse box. But for the idle up on the ps pump does that second niplle get vented then?

supraholics.. hey that is indeed your manifold and you were right it looks amazing bolted up to the engine.. dont worry i will finish polishing it all up before i install it :p
