I blew 2 main fuses in the fuse block. The abbreviations are ALT (100 amp) and CDS (40 amp, even though it's suppossed to be a 30 amp [I didn't notice this until just now]). Can someone tell me what these go to so I can track down the issue? Thanks all.

The ALT one is a fusible link, costs like 7 dollars. Gotta take apart the whole fuse block to replace it, its held in by 2 screws.

I figured out that whole screwed in thing only after breaking it up piece by piece and then resorting to calling my dad (who informed me of the screws). Atleast now I know why when I turned the key, nothing happened at all (no power to anything). Only thing that sucks is that my car is 15 miles from where I live, so it will be couple weeks before I get to work on her again.

Awww, your lucky though, at least the link didn't burn out on you while you were on a trip. Thats what happened to me at about 2 or 3 in the morning on my way back to TN... ended up on the side of the road in KY in the middle of the night... clueless as to what even happened. I didn't have a flashlight to see what all was going on :(

Get the fuse back in there... and you will regain power to everything. Most all your circuitry needs that fuse in order to even operate - I remember the only lights I got to come on were the ones on my doors.

Once the morning came around though - I could finally get in there and trace down the problem. I was lucky to have semi-decent knowledge in electronics.

Toyota dealerships can have you a new one with overnight delivery - its a really common fusible link.

I'll pick one up sometime this week, if I can find a ride out in town to the parts store. I'm not in that big of a rush since I drive my car once a month for pleasure. I walk to work (1/2 mile), and only drive my car for fun. I've put less than 3000 miles on my car since November 2005 (when I bought it).
