Well my stock fuel pump is on its way out so I want to replace soon so I don't get left stranded somewhere when it decides to die and I don't want to buy anothor stock one because even with my discount it will cost me $210 from the dealership. So I have been looking at the Walbro 255 HP fuel pump (with install kit) from 935 Motorsports for $105. My question is can I run this pump in my stock configuration and not too rich? I know I don't need to extra fuel from the pump at this point in time but it would be great to know I have the extra capacity when I get ready to upgrade. My hope is that the stock fuel pressure regulator can keep up with the upgraded fuel pump so I will not have to waste money on a stock piece that I will not use once the upgrades are in place.

Yeah I remember seeing that a few weeks ago, but it never got into how the upgrade would react with the stock system. (i.e. if it would run richer or if I would need an aftermarket FPR) I also wanted to hear from someone who may already running the setup. Thanks for the link though!!

In a stock system, you may run slightly richer at WOT, but overall the o2 sensor will compensate at part throttle. So you will not run that much more rich.

I would suggest the MK4TT pump, as it would run more like stock. However, it is much more expensive then the walbro.

What makes you think that your fuel pump is going out? It usually either works or it doesn't.

Nail on the head 935. They will generally only give you trouble twice......, If you are a lucky sob. And just like that, youre' shiat won't start... Fuel pumps just normally stop working. hey don't really just go out. A starter will go out quickley, but a fuel pump. If your'e lucky twice you'll get her started and then nothing.

Long story short I was having a hard start issue and I couldn't figure it out so I had some of the other techs check it out and we came to the conclusion that I am loosing pressure while the car is sitting -Check valve-. From my passed experience once the check valve craps out the pump is not long for this world!

I have a walbro 255 in my car now. The fuel pump was crapped out when I bought it. I had zero problems with driveability before the spun bearing. So go for it, besides if you want to turbo the car or something later on you wont have to drop the tank again
