Childersburg AL,
Ive heard when installing a aftermarket fuel pump you need to bypass a resistor pack.
The cars a 1988 turbo with a walbro 255.
I tried to find some info without posting but im new to the site.
does anybody know of a write up, pics something...:1zhelp:
I think this might help my current situation.

Thanks in advance

Originally I think it was from someone experiencing a tuning hiccup at the switching point. Something I've never seen on a Supra personally

Now people just do it (like you) because they've seen others do it.

Something you do NEED to have with a Walbro 255 is an aftermarket FPR, as the stock one cannot relieve enough pressure to stay in spec with a 255 even at 9 volts.

I wrote the article linked above. I was somewhat clueless before getting started. I relied heavily on the two threads by Shaeff, and a few PM's with him along the way. My goal was to provide all of his helpful info combined with step by step pictures for those like me who had never done it.

The bypass (from what I understand), is twofold. Of course, it increases the voltage to 12 volts. Secondly, it also takes away the dependence on 20 year old wiring that could fail you at any time. In my opinion, every little piece of insurance is worth the trouble. Pulling the tank really is way easier than anything you could imagine.

Childersburg AL,
Yeah Ive pulled my tank way too many times to count, but i wont have to this time.
my walbros already installed should be able to access the wires throught the hatch.
Im probably gonna do this after i get my FPR, for tuning Purposes.....
thanks
