To all the supra gurus, i have an 88 supra with the 7mgte with a bunch of parts. I am having troubles with my aeromotive regulator as the gauge bounces and i cant get an accurate reading. I have a new walbro 255 fuel pump and new pte 680 injectors. I can also hear the fuel pump wining up and down at an idle. Dont know if the two are related but i think so. I searched for common problems but could not find any. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The regulator isn't going to work if the pump isn't delivering a constant flow. It'll be chasing it's tail. If you hear the pump whining up and down you need to fix it. First thing I'd do is measure the voltage or current to the pump at the diag connector or at the pump itself. It could be a pump problem or an electrical problem, say in the FP relay. Next would be to flow test into an open container. You may have a restriction in the line, a bad fuel filter, or a bad suction sock. You could also deadhead the pump into a gage to see if the relief pressure is constant. Also check for proper vacuum to the regulator. Lots of way to skin this cat. Whatever, get the pump to run smoothly and go from there. Course, you could also just throw parts at it until the problem goes away or jack up the radiator cap and roll a new car under it ;)
