First of all let me introduce myself. My name is Nikolai and I am new to the forum  ! I Drive a Supra 1986.5 2.0 Twin Turbo Targa with an Electronic dash (The last detail is very important in the problem that I have encountered.) I have searched all over the forum before I decided to post this question - as I have not found the answer. (So I am sorry if I am reposting a known issue).
In a Nutshell:
When I fill up my car completely and switch her on the fuel gauge blinks (with full bars), and does not stop doing that until I turn off the ignition after 10 minutes or so of driving. After I turn the car off and then on again (her name is Mia by the way) the fuel gauge might do the following depending on the stage of PMS the car is in.
1) The bars will become full and the gauge is functioning properly (this is the most annoying of all, mainly because it works and prevents me from looking at this problem in hope that it will fix it self one day. I know it never will happen... but you get the point)
2) The bar is completely empty with the fuel light totally on.
3) The bar is completely empty with the fuel light totally on but then the gauge "fills it self up" as you drive until its full, or goes back to 1) or 2)
Now when I restart the car again, it might consider even giving me an incorrect fuel amount (I used to drive with the tank slowly filling itself up. Woah great I thought to myself I have put more fuel into her than I thought. 2 Ks later... kzzzzzzkzzzzzkzzzzzkzzzzz..... kzzzzkzzzzzkzzzzzkzzzz... and me going "You &#@*#")
So I am determined to solve this problem. I am thinking it might be a dirty fuel sensor... what else can you suggest I check?
Thanks
Nikolai
