Hey guys, my 87's fuel door seems to get stuck when i pull the fuel door lever. Has anyone else had this issue and if so is there any tips i can use so it won't get stuck anymore. The only thing i can do now is slide my credit card in between the door and quarter panel for some leverage, but it looks really janky lol. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

yea i kinda have to do the same thing but with my credit card haha. its not a huge problem but it gets annoying when i got to fill up. btw Alec your car is hawttt!!!
This is usually the spring on the door getting tired. Open the door, and bend the spring back to give it some more tension, see if that solves the problem.
yeah if the latch works its the spring.
the latch cable in my '89 is stretched to hell so i have to open the access panel in the trunk and manually trigger the latch

The cable in my 87 seems to be stretched, so I got some stainless washers and shimmed the latch so it would require less to open and now it pops much better, but it does get worse in the cold.

i just trimmed the detent that moves to let the door open. i got sick sick of looking like an idiot at the pumps lol
