"FTW" and "FTL" posts

Why is "FTW" (for the win) becoming such a over used phrase? Is there something sooo cool about this phrase that im missing out on?

When i first joined up here (over a year ago) FTW was rarley used, now, it seems as if EVERYONE (aka hellslegion:icon_bigg ) and others have been using it very very often.

I searched through one thread, and one person said it practically every time they post.

"This is FTW"

"Thats FTL"

"NO its definatly FTW"




Stupid terms are stupid and should not be over used!

seriously tho, its most likely just a simple internet trend and will be replaced by something new and equally annoying in the future... :)

Im asking why people use this soo damn much. :aigo:

its catchy, and can be used in a humorous way i suppose. Short and simple. making it perfect for the internet. kinda like smilies i guess.

Well i guess the whole point of this was to point out how much i hate this phrase!

Obviously you don't have enough to do if that bothers you so much, FTW, FTL and various others are as common and normal online as LOL. I can see your point but I really don't care enough to agree or disagree.

I am quite bored. I was sitting here doing chem homework and reading over a post were the word (***) was used well over 10 times in 10 listings.

Bordom at its best.
