ok now that i've bought a 2jz map from the dealership... it still does the same thing... i mean now when i boost it boost to like 6 psi now and it seems as if its redlining bounce up and down really fast.... wonder whats the deal... i feel a little bit of boost but then it cuts off when i hit 6psi and bounces up and down... and the powerband dies.... could it be because i need to tune it or what??? shouldnt it run somewhat differentlly even though i dont tune??? really need help... thanks guys....

check your vacuum lines to the map sensor and fuel pressure regulator....try swapping ecu's with a friend.

vac line to the map and fuel pressure regulator is fine.... nobody around here has a 1jz nor have i seen any mk3 supras around here who knows what a 1jz is....so pretty much i have to say i cant swap out ecu's with any body.... i looked at the ecu and i see no signs at all of leaking caps....checkd error codes and i still get the same one... code 31... i checkd over my wiring like a million times.... my car is pretty much going in limp mode just like yours... almost to say its the exact same problem... but when i revv up my car it backfires like crazy...doesnt matter if i past 3k or whatever it'll back fire like crazy...

Ya my car backfires a good bit at times too but its more random, ive never seen so many problems with 1JZ ecu's, back when I had my first one it was unheard of, mine never had a problem.

I've heard the 1jz ecu capacitors start leaking causing problems. Bigaaron at driftmotion offers a service to fix them at a great price.
