the garage thats doing the jobs on my car called me today. theres a scrunching noise when they move the car. thats since i got them to remove the old abs sensor from the front drivers side for you guys. apparently some of the old sensor went into the hub. so what would be involved in striping the hub down?is it a big job?

cheers

i just replace my front driver's side hub. i just ended up going to a junk yard and getting a complete hub with knuckle. prolly takes a good 40mins to do and after your done take the car for a wheel alignment.

the bearing, race and spindle has to come apart to get the abs serated sensor ring off the spindle to see if there is anything trapped in the hub. the bearing and everything else is sealed off from this area. if the sensor came apart i guess by your post it may be trapped in behind the sensor ring. if so it is either plastic or metal. the metal may be removed out the abs sensor hole and the plastic will wear away.

what is a srunching noise? a grinding as it rotates? something tossing around in the senor ring as it rotates?
