Hey guys,
Dumped the 2JZ project and am now re-installing a 7M. I have a nice big-@$$ intercooler and all the other funstuff that a 2JZ brings. I have the 2JZ intake manifold, will have a 7M manifold and have been doing alot of reading about the custom ones.

What are my best options for either using what I have or buying a full replacement? I would like to keep the battery and alternator in the same place, or only have to move slightly (I am keeping A/C). I also want to keep the 7M electronics (TPS, ISC, etc). NO engine codes!!!!

Recommendations, reviews, suggestions? Whatever? Thanx...

E

Water in the oil...

Will still rebuild, but put it in the GF's MKIV. getting out of project mode and back into daily driving and enjoying my MKIII....!!!!

Have you mounted the FMIC yet? If so did you have to relocate the resivoir for the radiator? If you did where to? Many times it will need to be moved and the simplest and cleanest place for it is where the battery usually sits meaning that the battery needs relocated.

Just curious.

I relocated it to the cavity below the driver's side headlight.... I'd like to keep the battery in the same place, which is why I'm looking at the different FFIM options. I do not want to put the battery inside the car (cabin).

Would like to get a FFIM setup which would be plug-n-play and not require a bunch more work/fabrication to work right (like stock).

Not necissarliy...I think mine would work with the battery in the stock location, the coolant res under the headlight, a high mount alt drop bracket that keeps the A/C, and a 2.5 inch pipe instead of the 3 incher I'm using.

In the pic imagine the pipe being .5 an inch smaller in diameter.

Imagine it running farther forward before curving down, then heading directly down instead of at an angle toward the front of the car.

Imagine the high mount alt bracket that Ron makes.

There's still the problem of running the stock electric fans though...I really don't think it will fit with them....

If the bov were not mounted where it is there's plenty of room for the battery. The coolant res relocation is already solved by mounting it under the headlight.

I think it could work....I can't promise that it will though...
