well back in feburary i made 543rwhp with the stock manifold. i went back to the dyno today and the best i could do was 515rwhp. at 24psi. i made 543hp at 24psi also.

the reason for the lower hp is that it was blazing hot today and i'm sure that had an effect on my HP.

anyway we kept on turning up the boost and 24psi is the highest i can go, i think the stock maniold just won't flow anyomore.

i have a spare one that i ported the hell out of. i'm going to install that and see how things go.

any other suggestions on why i can't go higher than 24psi.

ohh yea,, sorry.. yes the crappy stock exhaust manifold

I think that's about right. Some porting can get you further, but not worth the effort considering how insanely cheap tubular manifolds have become.

well a tubular option is not in my alley since i have a ct-26 flanged turbo

Why not? SSAC mani's may be T4 flanged, but they go for $170 shipped all day long last I checked. Ian's running one with an adapter because his turbo has a T3 flange.
Make an adapter. end of story!

Mike,
At 500 plus hp, are you happy with your set up? Is it an every day driver or not? Can you go out and kick ass on almost everyone? I am with you and would love to see you be the one that breaks the 600 hp limit on a stock set up.
Maybe it will take a cold day in January and a little more of this and that. I sure you are not giving up. I think you do hold the highest hp on stock manifold and for that the Supra community should be proud!

Always like to read your post, just don't start asking what color to paint you car.

I think that rocks for a stocker manifold imo. I would like to see what the ported manifold produces. I ported the snot out of mine...:biglaugh:

Looks like you're ~10:1 for the majority of time under boost, still a good bit of room to tune for power! :D

If it's hard limited by flow to 24 psi I can't see you getting the 600 you want Mike!

Look into having a stock Manifold Power Ported as this removes material through the entire length from port to turbo flange and NOT just as far in as you can reach with a die grinder..

There will be a few spots thin enough to need patches welded on once it's done and it's NOT cheap but is very effective at increasing flow.
(also make sure you run a bunch of braces to the Turbo as it will be weaker than stock)

Personally I'd grab a 321 SSAC and make an adaptor (which you'd need anyway to clear the Comp cover) Oil lines and everything else you mentioned are such a small expense at the level you're at.

I'd also put a Filter back on ;)
