During my re-build (88 7mgte), I noticed a jumper that was added by the last owner (mickey moused the whole car...) I am trying to determine what reason this jumper might have been put in. Any ideas would be appreciated...

See pics below: (notes are added as to where wires connect)

Jumper is from the Black/Orange off the main EFI relay and goes to the Red off of the Injector Resistor Pack that goes to injectors 3 and 5...

Well, it bypasses one of the pack's resistors. Why anyone would do it that particular way is beyond me though. It's electrically stupid.

As to why it was done I can only guess. Maybe that one resistor is open or he installed high impedance injectors in those two locations. Or maybe he's just a moron...

Based on other work I found - I vote for Moron! For example this splice was done by shaving off part of the insulation and just wrapping the other wire around it, then taping it... Makes you want to :bigun2: someone...

The injectors that I pulled out were stock... I fixed the wiring and did not plan to put the jumper back in for sure... but if there is an issue later when I start er up, I think perhaps maybe I will try fixing the right way... paint me purple and call me silly...

Any other ideas as to what may have failed that this jumper would bypass... Like Jetjock stated, no logical reason I can think of...

Thanks
