Now that i have your attention....I know most of you guys that have the JDM Recaro seats have areas that have been worn through, or faded and damaged from the sun, myself included.
My cousin runs an auto upholstery shop and he had repaired my passenger seat bolster before, using the material from the seat back then using a closest match to replace the back panel. I told him that if he could ever find rolls of the black Recaro material there would be a huge market for it. Well he just came to my shop last week and he thinks that he found a supplier that has rolls of it in stock. He took my headrest so he could match it up and hopefully get a perfect match. I will let you know if it is the same. Now he was saying that he could premake the repair panels of the seats and then people could install them them selves, most of the fabric is just held on by rods placed through the edge of the material and hooks on the seat frame. Or you could send in the seats to be repaired. Now the thing is that the material is quite expensive, similar to leather, or suede pricing, but if it is a true 100% match its worth it.

Now who would be interested in some GENUINE Recaro fabric??

I would be down for it..now just to look for a decent set of seats..totally lost on the pair i was bidding on. Can he even get the center cloth section? it would be awesome to get that too, then door panels inserts could be made also.

This would be for the outer black material, maybe he can find the grey stuff too. Anyone else interested?, we have a ton of JZA70's here in Canada and 90% of the Recaro's I have seen have the side bolsters worn through. I am still waiting to hear back about if it is a match.

Too bad this wasn't about 6 months ago before I went and got the black on my recaros redone in leather. Now it doesn't look like ill even need my two mint recaros anymore since I think I found a hookup for a set of carbon kevlar racing seats. Oh well! Good find though Randy if this works out!!

Cool... I think I'm going to go that route so I'll send them an email in the next couple hours. I wanna do my side bolsters, and the door trim over with that avus fabric. Looks pretty mean...

Well I herd back from them today,

Mr Griffin,
Many thanks for your interest. How many metres of the fabric do you require. Typically the Avus Black is supplied in rolls of 50 meters, but we may be able to order smaller rolls. However, the more your charge, the cheaper each metre will become. Please let me know roughly how many metres you were looking to order, and I will come up with a price for the roll and delivery to the USA for you.

Kind regards,
JoeCapital Seating

Im going to see how small of a roll I can order, 50 meters is like 164ft! lol Ill email them later tonight when I get home from work.

Sorry , I forgot about this thread. My cousin can get the material, and is willing to make the replacement seat panels. They would be premade, and you would just have to take your seat apart and pull the old cover off and slide this one on. He is putting togeather a price list for me, piece by piece. So you could get just a sinlge lower bolster section, or the upper outer side bolster material. The rear seats are a little more difficult to do as the grey center material is sewn to the black, so they would need to be sent in and sewn into your seat centers. He can also get replacement foam parts, the lower bolsters are available seperatly and the side bolster foam too.

I will post the pricing in the next week or less, and possibly start off with a group buy to get things going.

Very interested in a group buy! I need all the black material on both of my front seats replaced. Both in pretty rough shape.
