Hey all!
I was a bowtie fan for over a decade (ducks various thrown objects). A couple of years ago I bought a MK II P-type simply because I needed a car, and it was cheap. That car impressed me way more than I expected. Things actually fit where they should, and the car didn't rattle at all. Imagine the egg on my face when I started touting the superiority of a Japanese car! Since then, I've gotten rid of the old Mk II and picked up an 88 Targa Turbo. I can't imagine ever buying another North American car.
Unfortunately the Mk III has a BHG, and I'm in the early stages of a build. I bought my Mk III off of the original owner and its got just over 130 000 kms. Can't wait to put it back on the road.
To those who answer the tech questions: I promise I will read any threads that seem relevant to any issues I come across before posting. Unfortunately, I am a noob when it comes to imported cars. Back in the day, I could tear down and re-assemble carbureted pushrod V8s no problem (although I haven't even done that since high school). So, with that in mind, if you are answering one of my seemingly 'noob' questions, feel free to use tech talk. I understand it much better than I speak it.
Thanks for reading.
