Okay first of all I'm trying to decide the best path to go for my mk3. I want to upgrade my IC, BOV,WG, and IC pipes. I have been looking at HKS's IC pipes and Cooleeze (Cooleeze seems to come with some extra pieces to work with more aftermarket Drop in IC's for perfect fitment.) With these kits I won't be able to use the piping if I went with Ron R. FFIM correct? So which route to go FFIM with new spearco IC and what IC pipe kits are avilable to work with 7m with FFIM?. Also what kind of $$$ are we talking here if I decide to go FFIM (with everything throttle pieces, alt. relocation bracket IC pipes etc. I have the BOV and WG's chosen already.(Also wondering where the best place or most used to mount BOV with FFIM. Any advice/facts would be very appreciative. If anyone has estimates on costs and gains for each setup would really help my outlook.

somewhere around 1k if i remember right just for the ffim setup.. then u need new pipes but i would put my money else where its suppose to raise hp but u can do the same amount with say a turbo upgrade, injectors, lexus afm...

i have heard of some people buying ic pipe setup off ebay i dont remember if they said they liked them or not.. as for the ic the ebay ones are said to be just as effcient as all the expensive ones..

When you mount the bov on your pipes make sure you put it as close to the tb as possible. You'll see many people with the jz series engine which has ffi mount it in the first 6 inches of piping attached to the tb.

when you go ffim you wont be able to use an ic that has the hotpipe and coldpipe on the same side(like the stock ic or spearco). and the only thing from the aftermarket ic pipe kits that you could use would be the hotpipe(maybe). the coldpipe would be all your job to route and fab. and yeah, from what i've read its about 1k or more to go ffim. not trying to discourage. plenty of people have done this with an aftermarket ic and alittle work.

1K covers pretty much everything and as i go through mine im learning theres alot more to it. a Ron R mani is around 600 for the long runner, 200 for a new ic, 300 for hardpipes and misc and pretty soon it adds up. these are just ballpark figures but you get the idea. im planning on my car being down another 3-4 weeks as i collect parts and the other needed items.

I assume you've gone full T3 or a full T4 upgrade that requires an external WG, or are you talking about upgrading internal WG's for some T3's?

What turbo are you using?

I'll be using an upgraded Ct26 when it gets back from Race Line. My IC pipes are old and detoriating and want to replace them with hard pipes. I also in the future want to go FFIM, but I don't know If I should go FFIM now, or get the IC, IC pipes etc. and resale them when I go FFIM.

I read you have already selected the wastegates to choose from, what does this mean?

I eventually want to run a HKS WG with the HKS sport turbo upgrade. Right now I'm deciding on IC, and IC pipes to go with. Think I'm going to go with cooleeze if not then the HKS pipes are my other option that I've seen. I want to go FFIM, but it's costly. I'm getting a good sum of money in a few days, but 1k just for FFIM vs. $500 tops for aftermarket IC pipes for my current setup. Which leaves me with $ to upgrade to an electronic boost controller, get some(Boost, EGT, oil temp.) gauges and pod, and upgrade my fuel system. Also need to get an A/F controller or one of the many fuel computers on the market. I was looking for an estimate on cost to go FFIM with custom IC pipes. 1k is to much. I'd have to see a dyno sheet of before and after FFIM install and see a gain of 35+whp to spend $500 more dollars and more labor for me. If you can get those kind of gains over the stock Intake Manifold then I'd spend the 1k.

if you for sure wanted to upgrade to ffim later on, i would suggest going ahead and getting an ic w/ outlets on each end. would make piping from the ic outlet to the throttlebody a little longer now but would be able to use for the ffim when the time comes.
