Surprised?
Alright, so, here's the issue. I recently changed my headgasket (OEM don't judge me!) and oil is leaking out like crazy below the CPS. I thought it was the turbo oil lines (driftmotion oil soft line kit) so I replaced all the gaskets with new OEM ones and put teflon tape on the fittings for the high pressure side......and it still leaks, but the turbo has absolutely nothing to do with it.
I let the car run and sought out the problem and it seems like it is leaking out from where the head mates to the block in the area near the power steering resevoir and CPS. My head was machined, but the front main engine cover behind the cams was not. I'm having similar issues as the OP in this post (http://www.supramania.com/forums/sh...-between-head-and-block-after-HG-installation). This post is also 5 years old so i'm making a new one.
So my next step is? Remove head, machine front main engine cover, and then problem solved? Do I have any alternatives to removing the head? Can I just remove the cams/cam gears and take the plate off and remove about 1/4" from the bottom of the plate and call it a day? I'm not really looking forward to removing the head again.
