A guy I know put a ford 9" with a spool in his 99 camero and he said it was all new internals.
The first day driving he said it sounded horrible, whines and sometimes a ticking. He changed the fluid and it was full of shavings, fresh fluid and has same problem. It has about 300 miles on it now and still says it sounds a mess like the first day no change.
Thats not much to go on I know but if any more info is needed to take a guess I can ask. Does it sound like the spool was installed wrong or the rear end is just trashed?
