Hello all. After im done rebuild my HG and all, I just have a quick question. Is there a turbo that spools faster/lower than the ct26? Also what is that sp bolt on turbo and what a/r and stuff does it come in? I just want the thing to have some mad torque and midrange, Kinda like a stock awd eclipse/talon or 1.8T VW, if youve ever ridden in one. The turbo is just there right away, But it also revs out fine. Im also going to have full 3 inch exhaust and BIC DDP, ebay intercooler and hard lines, electric fans, and basically stock everything else including fuel system. And remember i dont want big power, maybe like 240-260 rwhp, So im sure the stock fuel system will be happy with that.

i would keep the stock ct and kick up the boost a bit(with the supporting mods of course). this turbo will create more than your looking for.

when you put on the exhaust and intake its going to lower spool. get some hardpipes and it will drop it even lower. past that and you are probibly going to be outside the efficency of a smaller turbo.

As Kurt said, we (MDC) can provide you with a .57 Trim CT26 with a ballbearing center cartridge. A stock CT26 already has pretty decent spool time, but if you are really looking for something to spool with almost the instant touch of a pedal, a BB .57 CT would be ideal for you and will EASILY support the horsepower levels you are looking for at very minimal boost.

My 60-1 CT26 begins spool at about 2850-2900 which isn't bad, and supports power all the way through the RPM range. .57 spools even quicker! ;)

Contact Jon (MDCmotorsports) or I, Jeff, if you have any questions.

BTW: With a healthy stock CT26, you can easily achieve 240-260rwhp safely.

My 60-1 spools a little slow than that... more around 3300-3500.
That could be because of my massive exhaust leak though... :)

With how loud that sucker is, i'm willing to bet you're definitely losing some spool! Seems like that would cause some serious turbulence!

One more thing, How the hell do you get the hard-to-get-off turbo elbow bolt off? The elbow is blocking itself. The only way i can see is to get a 12 point wrench and move it that 1 inch avaiable about 1000 times. Anyone have a better method?

I guess that would work. yay. Does anyone have a good torque wrench they want to let me borrow, and the allan key socket for the head bolts?
