I just started using this program and its exactly what I was looking for. No adds, tabbed windows... and it pretty much has every IM program included. It's real simple and bad ass so check it out: http://www.pidgin.im/
Heh, I've been using pidgin for a while. Just made the switch to Digsby. Pidgin is nice, but i dunno, I never really got into it. Digsby is very similar to Adium, which is easily the best IM client ever.... too bad its only for OSX.
I only use Meebo now. It logs into MSN, AIM, ICQ, YIM, and GIM. It's web based, so you can login from any computer, anywhere, without needing to install anything.
Yea, and trillian is a resource hog. Trillian Asta's GUI is too fat and inefficient, i think that'll flop. Miranda is good, but a little too linux-y for me. Pidgin would crash on me all the time (even using the newest versions). And I agree, between my 3 installs, its nice to load up one account and have everything there. Meebo does that, but its still web based. Digsby, while technically is also webbased, has a much more 'installed app' feel to it. And, its pretty, works well, and transferable. Its still very new, so customization isn't as great as Pidgin or Miranda, but After using ALL of those other programs, I've settled on Digsby.
