For the people who are looking how to take the dash out

idk i been seeing a lot of people saying they want to see a "how to" to take the dash out, i was skimming the TSRM and i found the section they show you how to take it out, so i decided to share

one thing that isnt there, is that you need to drop the steering column inorder to get the dash out, i think there are 2 17mm nuts that hold it up

I've done it twice. It was much easier the second time. There is actually only 8 (I think) nuts holding it down. Popping the snap in things to me was the only tricky part. I broke one, but luckily had a spare.

make sure you have everything bagged with labels, what a head ache if you dont

First time, everything bagged carefully. Couple of brakes, some music....maybe a couple of hours?

i done it to many of time's it really easy thou as for screw there pretty much all the same cetp for the cluster screws with are gold and the bolts for dash all the rest are very muchthe saem some may be tad longer but you will know if it dont fit

remmber don't loose the clips for the top visor peacs they can tend to fall off

now it's just cake walk

yeah, i don't bag anything. i remember where it all goes at this point. (well, on my car anyway). so long as i do the job in the same week or so, bagging things just takes extra time.

if you don't have a good memory for stuff like this, bag/label might save you, though.

My first time barely took anytime at all. :dunno:

Plus, maybe he has some wire-hack-job done there, then it could be a real pain
The first dash I uninstalled (luckily didn't need the wires) had a serious mess there, so I just cut the bullshit out. My original dash though had only two wires I had to cut and later reconnect
And well...about the bagging thing....I had a lot of ''aftermarket'' screws there and well....

Just for anyone who wants to do it for the first time and still is unsure or not too confident about it after reading what the TSRM says, there are some write-ups on how to do it by people who have done it themselves. I haven't read through them thoroughly though, but it's good stuff. Try supracentral, or SOGI.
