For all the leadfoots who lost their car for an extended time

Ive been out of my supra bc of the engine for o, 2 1/2 months now, I know some of you longer. I didnt exactly have a lead foot, but I had fun with it. I just want to drive it again, Ill baby it all day I just want to drive it again. My question is, how long does this OK Ill baby her thing last when you finally get back in it b4 its fun again, well, I mean, you MAKE it fun again...

for me about 10 blocks down the road and my foot has got to hit the floor so the tires will light up and then bam they grab and throws yah back in the seat for the instant acceleration.

When my new engine's done I plan on trying out the "hard" break in. I plan on doing about three WOT pulls right after rebuild. Let the car warm up, WOT in 2nd almost to redline, let off, and let the car slow itself back down without using the clutch. Park it, let it cool down, repeat two more times, but use 3rd, then 4th gears. Change oil right after (dinosaur oil for starters), then baby it for the rest of the 1000 miles with frequent oil changes. I will then switch to full synthetic and drive it hard occasionally. Problem is, I hope I can keep my foot off the floor. I'll probably instal a 2x4 under the pedal as a failsafe....lol

Its only what, 1500 miles? You can't hold less than a month of not flooring it?

Just borrow someone elses or rent a car if you really can't hold it. it'll be cheaper in teh long run...

actually I didn't rebuild my motor and I have a chevy cavalier as my DD that and a dodge mini van so when I drive the supra it's mostly just for fun anyways.

Once it's broken in and I'm sure NOTHING is going to leak/fall off/break it's play time again.

ahh the heck with it just drive it like you stole it :evil2: i would go for about 500-1000 miles before cuttin donuts on the historic square in Clinton,MO my hometown (the Elks Lodge Collapse on June 26 shutdown 1/2 of the north side so no drfting around the whole square:cry: :evil2:
