Foglights

I've seen a lot of pictures with people's foglights on, without their lights being up. But on my car ('89supra), the foglights will only turn on if the main lights are on. is there something wrong with my foglights? or do i need to disconnect the main lights to do that?

There is nothing wrong with your car. That is how Toyota designed it. That is the one main thing that should be added to the other thread. The power for the relay comes from the headlight circuit. Changing that is easy. Just add a power supply from elsewhere. Always on like dome circuit, or parking lights, cig lighter, etc.
