The front right (USDM Passenger) fog light and front quater panel amber lights dont work on my car. They have been like this since i obtained the vehicle. I tried changing the bulbs but that didnt work. I was trying to chase the wires but couldnt find anything (obvious) disconnected. I did however find where 2 of the wires had been stripped and were touching. I think this might have blown a fuse but didn't see any that were blown. Does anyone know exactly which fuse operates these (im not even sure if they are both on the same fuse). Also does anyone know of a relay or an out of the way wire connector that i should check? Thanks.

The fog lamp has its own fuse. See the EWD. If the car has not been tampered with, it is powered and grounded through the headlight system. This ought to narrow down your search real quick. What year? The only year I have on hand is the online version. My guess is a previous owner moved the power and ground to the parking lights instead of the head lights.

Nick it is an 89 built Nov 88 but has a grey plug harness. I will have to look into it more. it is just wierd that all of the other quater lights and the driver side fog light all work.

Hmmm....I'm gonna jump in this as I've got a similar issue -- when I parked the car due to a roached motor 3-1/2yrs ago, all fogs, marker lights, etc were working -- just reconnected the battery tonight to verify if the 194s were working since the glass looked tinted. One thing I noticed was all lights on my car work except the fogs and the marker bulbs (the 194s work, just not the bigger bulbs). The only thing I did when I pulled the front bumper was disconnect the fogs and tuck the marker light harnesses up in the fender liners. I probed the socket with a multimeter and was getting no voltage, so I disconnected the pigtail with the 194 and the bigger bulb and probed the connector...no voltage there, yet the 194 lights up when I plug the pigtail back in. One other thing I did notice was that my dash lights and the headlights did flicker when I nudged the switch on the column, but it only seems to do it for a short time after connecting the battery.

Update: One thing I noticed when troubleshooting was that the 1156 bulbs wouldn't even turn on when I hit the turn signals....so I remembered, have to plug in the hazard switch. So now they blink for turn signals and hazards, but still not as parking lights, which leads me to ask this -- I know it's been 3-1/2yrs since I've used the lights on this car, but do those bulbs even turn on as marker/parking lights? Or is it just the front 194s that light up during that setting?

Side markers work now too, turns out the bulbs had burnt out somehow....and fogs are working as well. They seemed to start working sometime after I plugged in the hazard switch...?

I kind of came to that conclusion last night after reading your last post -- I have a problem with over-thinking things sometimes, and I think a combination of not seeing those lights on for almost 4yrs and being so used to the front marker/signal lights all being on with my truck threw me off. I was looking for something in the EWD that didn't exist apparently. I also decided to look at photos/videos of other MKIIIs on youtube and it confirmed what I was thinking -- the 1156 bulbs are in fact turn signals only.
