I don't like it either... Sure, you've got great flow to your IC but it just doesn't look nice. Function is important but I like my car to still look presentable. I don't really like the HEY LOOK AT MY FMIC style bumpers anyway.
I like the way the stock bumper and grills hide the IC and it's not easy to see.
I have a Trust IC btw. Direct replacement. It's not big and shiny and uses stock pipes and everything. Works fine for me and the engine bay still looks stock, the way I like it.
I did mine just like Mark's was done, only I welded the support brackets to rest on top of the frame rails. I modified my hood latch by removing the bracket, and passing a steel zip tie from the hole for the bracket, and running it to a hole behind the nose piece for the bracket.. it keeps the latch from moving up/down.
well im just glad i didnt really have to cut into my bumper support. Just that outer lip thats pinch welded together. I had to drop my tow points also, but i found a way not too long ago to keep them and pipe around them.
I just got the spearco style FMIC from driftmotion, haven't received or installed it yet but when I do I'll post pics, I just got it since I plan to go 1JZ or 2JZ down the road so it woun't work for that but itll make the 7M put out a lil bit more and putting out more is better than not getting any anyday.
