i recently bought a "fidanza" flywheel from the for sale section because i knew i could get a replacement disc cheap. when it showed up, it was an aasco flywheel. i've searched, but i can't find the disc for it anywhere.
the question is, should i send it back or keep it and try to find the disc? i'm sure if i can find one, it will be more than the $45 fidanza one.
thanks.....kevin

Yo dude, whats up. I looked into this quick and it seams that aasco was bought out by unorthodox. HP freaks has unorthodox inserts for $160 but I dont know if they are compatable and they did not list one for a supra. You need the 9.5" OD and 6" ID "heat shield", aasco still has a wbe site but it kinda sucks so you would have to call them. I could make you a cromoly insert for it as you are local and we could just meet up and I could take the old insert to work. give me a call or a PM

Why don't you get your money back from the seller? If it was sold as a Fidanza and that's not what you received, you could probably get your money back and keep looking for a Fidanza.

i'm pretty sure this one is actually better than the fidanza. the downside is, the insert is a bit more money and harder to find.

I took a look at that one for $65 on ebay. CAT seams to be a legit company, small long time running USA shop. Its probbly a great deal and its S.F.I. rated and they seam to do a lot of NHRA stuff. For $65 you could pick that one up and run it and that would give you time to find or have me make a new insert for the aasco one. For that price it never hurts to have a spare quality unit on the shelf.

I've been driving on one of them for 4 years.
Pretty sure it's the same exact unit, but I paid almost 3x as much back then.

I looked around on line and read some reviews of cat's parts. They seem to be kinda hit and miss depending on what kind of part and how much of the machining they do vs there china suppliers. $65 is a very good price but I would hate to have a flywheel fail. You might just be better off rebuilding the aasco as they are known to be very good. Or at least they were before unorthodox bought them, lets just hope they don't loose there quality.
