I've been reading on compressor surge and fluttering bov's and have concluded that I do have a fluttering bov but am not sure if I have compressor surge. Does compressor surge a constant "wwwuuussssshhhh" at low boost?

Also I have tried to adjust my bov to a softer setting, and finally got to the lowest setting, and was still fluttering at low boost and high boost. Does this mean I need a new one or am I over looking something? I'm not sure what kind it is.... it came with the car and has no name on it. I cant post pics because it says error on page and pop up blocked and can seem to get it to the right settings to be able to work.

I have a greddy E-01 boost controller and when I punch the gas my boost bounces to my setting and goes back about 4 psi then back to my setting. Does this have to do with my bov's setting and/or problem? Im sure I set the E-01 up right and I dont have any wastegate mod.

thanks for your help

Alright, got it to work right. It is a recirculating bov. Can anyone tell me what bov this is and help me with my problem. Also, what is a dircet replacement for this? Its a round fitting with a snap ring holding it in.

I would like a quiet bov. Can anyone recommend one? Thanks

Looks like an eBay HKS knockoff. Just about any of the BOV's that are set to recirculate will be about the same noise level. You'd actually lose more BOV noise by going back to the stock airbox.

So this is probably a garbage bov. What is a direct replacement? Its a round fitting with a snap ring holding it in. I'm not sure if the different bov's have different fittings for the pipe or not.

HKS Super Sequential is the real BOV that this one is likely a copy of.
