so i got air bubbles in my cooling system and they've been in there a very long time...when my dad still drove it around. i decided i need to get em out. but then i decided that i might as well flush out the system with distilled water. should do the burping procedure first and then do the system flush or the other way around? or should i just wait untill monday and do a coolant pressure test(we got the tools in school) and then do all these procedures..

personally, if i were to do a pressure test, i would do that first, then flush then burp it.

for the flush i would use BG products. i found the BG flush at a mercedes dealership. u might be able to find it else where. put a bottle of that in the cooling system, drive it around for a while to normal operating temp, then drain and flush the system. refill and then burp it.

don't forget to turn the heater on

flush without distilled water at first

you will run about 5 gallons through the system before you flush it out completely (and by that I mean the water coming out as clean as it went in).

AFTER the flush then you drain and use distilled water and Antifreeze.

btw to burp a system with 100% certainty,

this also pressure test the cooling system to make sure no leaks.

use the bg flush stuff, then unhook your lower radiator hose and thermostat housing and stick the hose in and run the hose for a good while until it's clear coming out the lower hose then stick the hose in the radiator fill tube and run it until clear water is running out the lower radiator spout. then hook it all back up with a new thermostat and fill with 50/50 or whatever ratio you want to run then jack the front end up until the radiator filler is the highest part of the front end and run the car until its up to temp filling the radiator as needed and you should be good to go
